Four talented singers and musicians make up Almost Recess, an a cappella band from the Washington, DC area. Their sound is fresh and dynamic, and will dazzle even the most discerning listener.   Critically acclaimed Almost Recess creates the sound of a band using only their voices!

The guys collectively have a diverse musical background, ranging from jazz drumming to trombone, to piano, but what unites them is their love of singing.  They perform over 300 shows annually for audiences of all ages.  In their four years together, they have presented their powerhouse program filled with songs and stories at fairs, festivals, schools and performing arts centers, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and have performed with many other acts, including the Charlie Daniels Band.

Amfibian
Featuring Phish lyricist Tom Marsall

Longtime Phish partner in crime Tom Marshall returns to the spotlight with Amfibian boasting a brand spanking new lineup. Tom's comfortably unconventional lyrical vision is complimented by co-writer Chris Metaxas's simplistically elegant musical framework and the blazing hot guitar licks of former Lenny Kravitz and Spin Doctors collaborator Anthony Krizan, as well as a little lyrical and musical nudge from Vermont friends Trey Anastasio and Seth Yacovone. Riding on a melodic center while flirting with a ferociously evil undercurrent, their album, From the Ether , released in January 2004, creeps up from the bottom only to pull you under with a poetic yank.  The band is currently putting the finishing touches on their newest album, soon to be released.
